Weekend Recap

{On our fancy date, our celebratory dessert, going on a churro run, enjoying our quiet morning.}

This weekend was a short one but a good one. More often than not Aaron and I find ourselves enjoying a night in rather than going out. And I’m not complaining. My weekends are Thursdays and Fridays so by the time the “normal” weekend rolls around I’m beat from working my Monday + Tuesday. Aside from Friday night though we stayed in both Saturday and Sunday night and had some good down time relaxing. On Friday night Aaron and I celebrated 4 years together. We made reservations to eat at Todd’s Unique Dining which is a fancy restaurant down the street. We definitely never get to go to fine dining restaurants like these so to say we indulged is an understatement. Everything was perfect from the food + drinks to the handsome gentleman sitting across from me. We both agreed that we would try to eat there more than once a year, which I’m definitely okay with! When our dessert came out our waitress surprised us with a cute tiramisu topped with a candle and a sugar plaque saying “Happy Anniversary” then we cheered to many more years together.

Some other things I’ve been enjoying lately» a clean house, working out everyday for the past 5 days, taking Molli for a walk with her new head collar rather than her taking me for a walk, a new (amazing) knife set for our kitchen, coffee, being responsible with my money, talking with old friends, making birthday plans to visit Reno!, stretching + enjoying this warmer weather.

How was your weekend? Hope it was great!

Weekend Recap

{Molli greeting me when I got home from work last night + my new favorite ball of chaplip!}

This weekend wasn’t anything special, I’m (still) super sick so other than working I spent a lot of time trying to get better. Saturday I came home to a super clean house. Aaron and I have an unspoken rule that on one of our days off we try to tidy up the place a bit. Well as always, Aaron has to take this duty a step further. He bought a vacuum and a toaster oven(something I’ve been wanting!!!) It was so nice to come home to the entire house spick and span. He even cleaned up the fallen palm tree branches in our front yard. I feel like it was one of those times where he really wanted something so he was trying to butter me up but nope. He is officially my favorite. ;)

Last night was filled with good friends, a much needed bang trim, packing + staying up late while Aaron worked on some freelance. Staying up until 3:30am was not what I had planned but we didn’t think that before we brewed a pot of coffee at midnight. Woops.

Tonight we’re flying to San Diego. This will actually be the first time in our almost 4 year relationship that we’ll be riding on a plane together! I’m excited!

Have a Happy Monday everyone xo

Weekend Recap

This weekend went by far too quickly, I’m so sad to see it come to an end! Mine and Aarons families both got into town late Wednesday night along with our best friend Sam and since then I’ve been running around spending good old fashion quality time with everyone. Thursday was Aarons portfolio show and it went SO great. I’m so proud of my love! Here’s a couple shots of his portfolio table:

{Isn’t he handsome? :) }

Everything turned out so great, I’m so proud of him! You can view more of his work over HERE. :)

After his portfolio show was our graduation and it was a huge event. Our graduation was smack down in the middle of the Fashion Show Mall and I’ve never seen anything like it. We were literally all in a huge glass box that raises you out of the ground and it got kind of ridiculous when they added the smoke effects and spot lights, lol. But it was fun and I’m so happy to have graduated from there. Afterwards all of our families got to meet and talk over dinner. I was a bit nervous BUT it turned out great and I’m glad that after almost 4 years(!!!!!!!) everyone met.

Friday I laid by the pool with my Mom, little sister Hannah, stepdad and Sam. It’s actually kind of funny because I only went swimming twice over the Summer and now that it was the first day of Fall I was swimming with all of them. :P We followed that with cooking dinner at my house and watching Bridesmaids. I love love love that our sectional in the living room can fit everyone on it!! It’s perfect and Aaron and I agreed that it was definitely one of the best purchases we made for our home.

Saturday morning my family came over and we all cooked breakfast together before they left back up to Reno. I really miss them and can’t stress enough how much this weekend meant to me that they all drove down here. :) After they left Sam and I went to H&M to shop for a dress for my girls weekend next week! I’m SO excited and got the perfect dress for the occasion. I ended the night making delicious nutella cupcakes for Aarons family and ate dinner over at his grandparents house.

This weekend was definitely eventful but I had such a blast. Now I’ve got tons of work to catch up on and then I’m heading to the gym. I hope your weekend was wonderful!

Weekend Recap

{My workspace currently}

This weekend has been amazing. I know it’s not over for most and I hope that all of you are having a wonderful Labor Day weekend! But I have to cut mine short because people still need their coffee on Monday and well, I have to be there to provide that for them. ;)

Aaron and I(mostly Aaron) have been working hard to finish deadlines and the few days leading up to the weekend have been rough because our schedules weren’t aligning. So this weekend was very much needed. Do you ever have weeks like that with your significant other? Where you get all disconnected due to your schedules or what-have-you and just need a good day or two to reconnect? It’s been hard but I totally love taking the extra energy to show how much I appreciate + love him.

Yesterday we slept in until noon(!!!!) and holy wow, that NEVER happens and I usually wouldn’t be okay with it but I felt so refreshed and reenergized afterwards. I spent the rest of the day at the gym, working away on some freelance and ended the night with a home warming party at my coworkers new house and another get together at our friends house involving good friends, red wine + a bonfire. It was such a relaxing and fun-filled Saturday!

Today I’ve just been working away on a design that I’m really excited about. As you can see from my last post I’ve been really enjoying Illustrator and this new design incorporates a lot of my new skills I’ve acquired! It’s so amazing to look back and see how much I’ve progressed in terms of designing and I cannot wait to see where I am a year from now. Exciting :)

We have just 5 short days until we move into our new house and I’m so excited. Though Aaron and I haven’t even began to pack. Yikes. We purchased a sectional from a friend here in Vegas and needless to say, we got a HUGE discount on it. It looks GREAT and I cannot wait to pick it up Thursday and have that be the first piece of furniture in our home!

I’m going to get back to work so I hope you have a good night!
