I love you more than coffee

As most of you know, the past few months I’ve been creating monthly designs celebrating each month Aaron and I have been together. We just passed our 4 year mark last week! This project has been such a fun creative outlet for me to learn and experiment, I’m having such a blast.

Since we moved into our house we purchased our first coffee machine and it’s far from neglected here. We use it atleast 1-2 times a day and it’s heaven sent that it has a brewing timer on it! Yes. Coffee is definitely one of my favorites next to design and Molli but nothing is more favorable than who I get to share that cup of joe with. ♥

Weekend Recap

{On our fancy date, our celebratory dessert, going on a churro run, enjoying our quiet morning.}

This weekend was a short one but a good one. More often than not Aaron and I find ourselves enjoying a night in rather than going out. And I’m not complaining. My weekends are Thursdays and Fridays so by the time the “normal” weekend rolls around I’m beat from working my Monday + Tuesday. Aside from Friday night though we stayed in both Saturday and Sunday night and had some good down time relaxing. On Friday night Aaron and I celebrated 4 years together. We made reservations to eat at Todd’s Unique Dining which is a fancy restaurant down the street. We definitely never get to go to fine dining restaurants like these so to say we indulged is an understatement. Everything was perfect from the food + drinks to the handsome gentleman sitting across from me. We both agreed that we would try to eat there more than once a year, which I’m definitely okay with! When our dessert came out our waitress surprised us with a cute tiramisu topped with a candle and a sugar plaque saying “Happy Anniversary” then we cheered to many more years together.

Some other things I’ve been enjoying lately» a clean house, working out everyday for the past 5 days, taking Molli for a walk with her new head collar rather than her taking me for a walk, a new (amazing) knife set for our kitchen, coffee, being responsible with my money, talking with old friends, making birthday plans to visit Reno!, stretching + enjoying this warmer weather.

How was your weekend? Hope it was great!

The new year + new goals.

The Las Vegas Strip on NYE.

Paris. ;)

The Bellagio fountains.

$3 Flask: Check.

Howdy all! It’s been really quiet here on the blog and I’m just now able to sit down and update you on how my holidays went. My sister came into town last week so I was able to spend some much needed quality time with her. I miss my family in Reno so much it hurts. I’m hoping to book a quick trip there either this month or next to see everyone and maybe snowboard(I miss that too!) Along with my sister coming into town one of my best friends came to Vegas so we could bring in the New Year together. I’ve never been on the Vegas strip during New Years and it was definitely something everyone should experience. The entire Las Vegas blvd was shut down so everyone was able to walk around. I had a great time showing Kameron some of the touristy things and had a fun time drinking and catching up. I wish more of my friends from Reno would come to visit.(hint hint!)

I’ve been thinking a lot about this new year and how I want it to differ from the last. Last year was amazing dont get me wrong but there are always areas in my life where I’d like to improve. For instance, I really need to push myself harder when it comes to reaching goals. I always get stuck on one thing and let it overwhelm me to the point where I give up. I need to continue to push through it because that’s the only way I’ll get things done and the only way I’ll learn. That is one asset about myself that I absolutely loathe. I’d really love to start doing things rather than talking about it. One good example, I’ve been saying I’m going to open a print shop for far too long and instead of talking about it I need to just do it. Along with those two goals I’ve been getting all of my finances in order and planning hard so I can be debt free in just a few short months(aside from school loans which will take forever to pay off.) I’ve gotten back into my workout routine after not going for those few weeks that I was sick. And since Aaron got me a brand new camera for Christmas I’m definitely feeling more motivated to take pictures and am loving it. I love photography and wouldn’t mind seeing that turn into more than just a hobby one day.

This weekend Aaron and I are celebrating 4 years together(!!!!!!) and I am so excited. We made reservations to eat at a fancy restaurant tomorrow night and I can’t wait to get dressed up and eat my weight in food. Eep!

What are some things you’re trying to change about this year? Did you make any resolutions?

Meet me under the mistletoe

Ah! So remember how every 7th of the month Aaron and I have our monthiversary? And how I’m supposed to be posting a design on that day each month? Well, let’s just all pretend it’s the 7th right now and NOT the 16th. I’m such a procrastinator. Well I’ve actually been hard at work on it but there’s been a lot of indecisiveness going on.

I originally started hand drawing the entire quote “Meet me under the mistletoe” but it became way too overwhelming. Especially as my first attempt at hand lettering. So, while I kept the original drawing I started over and just wrote out “Mistletoe.” I think it turned out pretty good for my first hand at this(pun intended). And how cute is that mistletoe illustration I did? I definitely plan to experiment more with this. I had so much fun and though this was a lot more tedious than most design related things I do, I think I’m enjoying this a lot more. Eep!

As long as this took me, I better start on next months design real soon. lol

Any feedback is welcome!
