As most of you know, the past few months I’ve been creating monthly designs celebrating each month Aaron and I have been together. We just passed our 4 year mark last week! This project has been such a fun creative outlet for me to learn and experiment, I’m having such a blast.
Since we moved into our house we purchased our first coffee machine and it’s far from neglected here. We use it atleast 1-2 times a day and it’s heaven sent that it has a brewing timer on it! Yes. Coffee is definitely one of my favorites next to design and Molli but nothing is more favorable than who I get to share that cup of joe with. ♥

Since moving into our new house and acquiring our new friend Mr. Coffee Machine, Aaron and I have been making coffee for each other every morning and sometimes close to midnight(this should explain why we’re such night owls). It has been so nice not having to go to the coffee shop to grab coffee and not to mention, saves us a ton of money. A lot of the times when we don’t finish our coffee we toss it out, last week I had a lightbulb to go to Target for a pitcher so we can throw the extra coffee in there and chill it in the fridge.
It’s such a simple solution and I love iced coffee way more than hot coffee. Add cream, some sugar and voila! I realized after our coffee binge recently that I make my coffee exactly like my mother does, with the color exactly like that.
I also noticed in the coffee aisle at our local grocery that they sell small bottles of hazelnut + vanilla syrup. Not too expensive either so you can put 2 pumps of that in your iced coffee. Yum!
Yesterday I met up with one of my best friends, Kameron. Him and I have known each other since high school and he is still as close as ever. He’s definitely one of the first people I call whenever I get to Reno and it’s always such a blast hanging out. Yesterday we drove to Bibo’s coffee, a local coffee shop here in downtown Reno. I love this place. I usually get a hot drink but since it’s the summer I decided to get a soy blended minty mocha. Mmm! Kameron got an iced vanilla mocha and that will most likely be the drink I get the next time I’m there, it was SO good.

Kameron also has one of the cutest dogs I’ve ever laid eyes on. Her name is Addie and she is the cutest most bashful dog! I love her and since being on this trip I am already planning on getting a Boston Terrier soon after I get home. Let’s hope the bf is okay with it!

Some of you may not know but I’ve been working at an independent(all organic) coffee shop for quite sometime. Since working there I’ve developed a great appreciation for coffee and latte art. Starbucks does not have shit on what local coffee shops do. The skills and technique are definitely something that develop over the period of time that you’re in this business but my love and admiration are forever growing.

There is a lot that is learned when making coffee, it is much harder than it looks. Everything from tampering the espresso grinds, pulling the shot on time, frothing the milk perfectly and making beautiful latte art, it doesn’t come easy. I’ve worked there since the beginning of the year and still have not been able to master latte art. I have one coworker who can make the most elegant looking rosetta but he’s been working with coffee for damn near 10 years. It takes time.

When it comes to making latte art there’s free pour and etching. Etching is a lot easier to do but you get mad props for being successful in free pour. Some of the most common designs made are Rosetta’s and hearts. Anyway, I thought I’d post some pretty pictures of some latte art I’ve been inspired by. Hopefully this post gave you a better understanding or insight on your coffee, and maybe some appreciation.

One of my favorite sites to go to and look at latte art is called Art in my coffee. Simply fabulous.
