An update

I hope you all had a fabulous Easter weekend! Things were definitely low key over here, which is always so nice.

Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Jessica and Chelsea at a fun West Elm event. It was such a blast and as terrifying as it is to meet fellow bloggers, I’m happy to tell you all that they aren’t creepy old men. ;) I’m excited that I’ve been branching out a bit more and meeting new friends in this new big city.

Over the past few days I’ve been interviewing with a fabulous photography studio here in San Diego. I had my second interview today and should hear within the next few days if I got the job. Cross your fingers for me! I’m super excited that I have been given this opportunity.

I’ve been doing some freelance and look forward to showing you all some of my work very soon. So stay tuned. :)

Dog training

As much as I love Molli, she is as stubborn as her Mother(me). One of my favorite things to do is take her to the dog park. Now before I go on, Molli is an american bulldog and Aaron rescued her just after she turned 1. She had agression issues when I first started taking her to the dog park and became very possessive over dog toys and at some moments would try to fit more than one toy in her mouth. She no longer is aggressive, I think because I’ve brought her out to interact with dogs more and more. My issue now is getting her to drop the ball when we’re out in public. She drops fine when we’re at home but as soon as we’re in a public setting all commands go in one ear and out the other. Now, I normally wouldn’t mind but it is SUPER embarrassing when another owner throws a ball for their dog and Molli goes after it and won’t drop it.

While I’m working with her I’ve decided to stay away from dog parks all together. This morning I took her to a secluded area of Balboa Park and threw the ball a few times so she would drop it, and she did! It was so exciting and I felt like a female version of Cesar Millan HA.I’m going to keep working with her dropping it and eventually slowly transition into the dog park. It’s both frustrating and rewarding but I’m just trying to be patient.

I just started reading Cesar Millans blog and all of the tips he shares. AND his show is on Hulu. Extra exciting. I’m also trying to work on the way Molli walks with us, I jokingly say this all the time but it’s truly as if she is taking me for a walk. Brat.

Have any of you had issues training your dog? I’d love to hear your stories.

Twins

Love this twins series shot by photographer Martin Schoeller. Check out more of the series on National Geographic here. Kinda makes me wish I had a twin sister! I think it’d be so neat to share the same DNA with someone. Think about all of the pranks we could play on people. :P

Pacific Beach

This morning Aaron and I woke up bright and early to go take pictures down at the beach. I’ve been dying to take my camera out and I’m so happy we did this together. It’s nice that we have a lot of the same interests and can go out and do activities like this on the weekend. Tomorrow we’re going to go explore Balboa Park as well. I love living in a new city! Here are some of the pictures I took today. All photos were taken with my Canon 60D and edited in Lightroom 4. I’ll share some of the photos Aaron took later on after he’s done editing them. Hope you’re having a great weekend!
