If you are someone that works a day job, does freelance AND still finds time to write in your blog: I have so much respect for you. Ha! Right now I’m trying to juggle two jobs and freelance so the blog has sadly been put on the back burner for a bit. BUT I think I’ve adjusted to the two jobs so hopefully you see more of me on here soon. Aaron and I currently only have Sundays together with me being at my two jobs during the week/weekend so we’ve been trying to plan fun activities together. Today we started the morning off getting coffee at our favorite shop and taking Molli to the dog beach. Aaron and I both agreed that going to the beach, even though it’s just so we can play with Molli, is SO refreshing. Next weekend we’re going to try to find a beginners hiking trail here in San Diego so hopefully that works out! I’m so excited! I’ve also started going to yoga at this cute studio downtown and am loving the work out.

Other than that here are some other things I’ve been enjoying: the walk to yoga, Wine Wednesdays, passion tea lemonade, hanging out with new friends, grocery shopping, “treating myself” to chocolate croissant bread pudding after a long week of work at both jobs, Aaron having coffee ready for me in the morning, spending Sunday mornings together, achy limbs from yoga, new jeans, and setting money aside to save up for this cute purse.

I adore the prints that Megan just launched for her new shop Hitch Print Shop. Her hand drawn style is fantastic. My favorite is definitely the Be Bold one and I cannot get enough of the beard on that Be a Man print. Great job Megan!

Life has been so crazy lately but I’ve been making the most out of it. Last week I had a great time at the Creative Connections event here in San Diego. Jessica + Marissa did an amazing job hosting and it was so exciting to see the name tags + sign-in sheet that I designed actually printed. Can’t wait for the next one! I’m so thrilled that it’s been only 2 months(exactly tomorrow!) that we’ve lived in this city and I’ve already made so many great friends. Especially because I’m such an introvert. ;P
Aaron is out of town until Saturday for business so we made it a priority to visit the dog beach before he left. I cannot say it enough but I love our new home. Just minutes away from the beach is well worth the outrageous rent that we pay. And I have found a new coffee shop in Little Italy that I am absolutely in love with. It’s called Influx and their coffee is delicious along with their food + pastries. Reminds me of the coffee shop I worked at in Vegas so I definitely think I’ll be going there far too often. I just discovered it yesterday thanks to Chelsea and Jessica and have already had 3 lattes since! Yikes.
Today is my day off so I’m going to spend it relaxing and maybe try to do some yoga in our tiny apartment. We will see. I hope you all have a great Monday. ♥

So last week I discovered the sock bun. I’m pretty upset that none of you showed this to me before. My bad hair days are now over because of this neat invention. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, go ahead and watch this super simple hair tutorial by Wendy, she is so cute!

Phew. What a crazy week it was. So instead of putting my two weeks in at my other job I decided I’d keep it and just work a few nights a week for extra income. Let’s just say, I immediately regretted that decision after trying it out last week. I’ve never had two jobs at the same time before so this is definitely something I’ll need to get used to. As much as I don’t want to work nights at one job immediately after getting off at my day job I know this will pay off in the end. Oh also, I forgot to mention that working two jobs entitles you to argue with your significant other about not washing dishes the right way and how many dog treats you should give your dog. So there’s that. I won, kind of.

Aside from working I’ve been trying to enjoy my time that I do have off from work as much as I can. Aaron and I took Molli to the dog beach yesterday and I’m proud to say she is a ball dropping machine now! After tons of practice and patience I’ve finally got her to drop the ball for dog treats. Now we’re both going to work on weaning her off the dog treats so she won’t expect a treat every time. It sounds so petty compared to real life issues but I’m so proud of her. It really was the most frustrating thing when she wouldn’t drop the ball.

I also would like to say that I made a damn good dinner tonight. Salmon, artichokes and rice followed by some leftover nocciola(hazelnut) and vanilla gelato. Yum!

You might have already heard me talk about this app on Twitter or Instagram but it is awesome. Aaron introduced it to me last week and I’ve been using it like crazy. Doodling letters and words without worrying about how many pages I’m filling up, running out of ink or how much of a mess I’m creating from erasing. It is FUN. You can create as many moleskins as you want and customize the cover with a photo or some of the skins they offer. It allows you to flip through the pages as well as share with tumblr/facebook/twitter. The app itself is free but with all of the colors, brushes and pens it’s about $8. Totally worth it in my opinion. I’d really like to see some more colors in the future and maybe size adjustments in the eraser tool. Also, Aaron even bought a stylus which makes it that much more interesting. Watch the video and read more about it here.

Also, yesterday my barista forgot to put vanilla syrup in my iced coffee. Their coffee was way too strong to enjoy without a little sugar so I ventured off to make my own syrup at home. It’s super simple so I thought you’d all like the recipe for yourself. It’s equal parts sugar + water with a few drops of vanilla extract. Boil it in a pot until the sugar dissolves and then let cool. From there you can add it to your iced coffee and save the rest for another day. It’s great and beats paying the 50 cent charge or whatever for the syrup addition at the coffee shop. xo

Okay, I might be late to the game but who else knew that you could throw tennis balls in the dryer to help fluff your clothes? WHAT IN THE WORLD WHO THINKS OF THESE THINGS?!

Well, after drying my work clothes last week with my work shirt coming out of the dryer looking like a wrinkled ball of who knows what. I decided to do some research of my own and came across all of these great uses for tennis balls. Of course this article was written back in 2007 so I’m sure people have since come up with more great uses for them but I thought it’d be helpful for all of you. So enjoy!

And in some exciting news, I said in my previous post that I had been interviewing with a photography studio here in town. I got news today that I got the job! And I start Monday! My totally awesome new title is a portrait consultant.
I’m still with my current job, which keep in mind I’ve only been working at for literally 7 whole days but luckily this new job is starting me out part time until I’m done at the other place. Hoorah! I was thinking about how much I hated my job in Las Vegas and how fast both of our lives have changed in just a few short months. This move to San Diego was so great and I’m glad we stuck with our decision. Which at one point we almost didn’t because of fear I wouldn’t find a good job. But now look where we are, we took a chance and things are finally falling into place.

Now it’s time to celebrate! Have a good day everyone! Today it’s beautiful outside so I may just have to take Molli out for a walk.
